Niklas Andersson has become something of a tradition at Bubbel & Babbel. As the only comedian to perform at all three editions of Liseberg’s stand-up event (including the precursor, titled Humor i hamnen ("Humour in the Harbour"), the affable Gothenburg native brings a warm familiarity that both grounds the evening and elevates it. Known for his understated delivery, playful charm, and quick wit, Andersson embodies the kind of comic who never needs to shout to be heard.
Barbecues, Bathroom Bans, and Trump: Andersson Keeps It Low-Key and Hilarious
At this year’s show, he opened with a nostalgic look at Liseberg’s past entertainment choices—teasingly linking them to Carl Stanley’s appearance that night in a bit that flirted with the edge but stayed well within the bounds of Andersson’s signature good-natured tone. His humor thrives in the gray zones, and he’s a master at keeping it light, no matter how cheeky the subject.
He riffed on the unpredictable Swedish weather (“Seven degrees in May? Now it finally feels like summer!”) and leaned into Swedish cultural quirks—most notably the almost sacred status of grilling season. With perfect pacing, he imagined men treating the barbecue like a holy ritual, and questioned why boiling food never gets the same reverence. “You never see a bunch of guys crowding around a pot going, ‘What do you use for boiling – water? What temp are you using – medium heat? Respect!’”

Andersson also dipped into current affairs, joking that the best part of U.S. politics is when it’s nighttime there—because at least then, Trump is probably asleep. A perfectly timed jab compared Trump giving fashion advice to Ukrainian president Zelenskyy to Måns Zelmerlöw offering relationship tips—a line that earned spontaneous applause for its sharp relevance and absurd logic.
But perhaps the evening’s biggest laugh came from a relatable tale about domestic life. When his partner hosts a girls' night, he’s essentially banished from the shared apartment—including the bathroom. Forced to take his “business” down to the laundry room, he described sneaking in with the bashful line, “Don’t mind me—just tossing two Snickers into the wishing well.” The image was as ridiculous as it was brilliant, and the crowd roared in response.
In sum, Niklas Andersson delivered exactly what fans have come to expect: a steady stream of well-placed punchlines wrapped in warmth and self-awareness. His ability to make everyday life feel hilariously absurd—without ever pushing too hard—is what makes him such a beloved staple on the Swedish comedy scene.
