Liseberg's comedy event Bubbel & Babbel returned for 2025 and brought laughter and light to Liseberg’s Harbour Area with two sparkling evenings of stand-up, music, and festive flair. Featuring some of Sweden’s sharpest comedians, the event mixed humor with bubbles and springtime energy.

Bubbel & Babbel at Liseberg: A Sparkling Fusion of Comedy, Music, and Atmosphere

Bubbel & Babbel is an annual two-day event held at Liseberg amusement park in Gothenburg, Sweden, combining stand-up comedy, live music, and a festive ambiance. In 2025, the event took place on May 23–24 in the park's Harbour Area.

The first evening featured performances by prominent Swedish comedians, including Carl Stanley, Marcus Berggren, Petrina Solange, and Niklas Andersson. Each delivered individual sets without intermissions, offering audiences a seamless and engaging comedic experience.

Throughout the event, various sparkling wines were available, enhancing the celebratory atmosphere. The Harbour Area was adorned with soap bubbles, adding a whimsical touch to the surroundings.

This event is part of Liseberg's broader initiative to offer diverse entertainment experiences, blending humor, music, and culinary delights to create memorable moments for guests.

Photographing the Event

The stand-up portion of the event, which CrowdSnapper covered, was held in front of a seated audience without a designated photo pit. To secure a clear line of sight, we arrived early to claim a good spot. Since stand-up comedy typically runs at a lower volume than a full-scale concert, I opted to shoot using the electronic shutter (also known as "silent shooting" mode). A few test shots under the stage lighting showed no noticeable banding, so I proceeded with that setup.

Overall, the images turned out well. A handful of shots showed slight banding in the background, but it was minimal and easy to correct in post-production.

I brought two cameras with my usual setup—28–75mm and 70–180mm lenses—but given the limited space and seated position, I ended up using the longer lens throughout the event. Its focal range proved ideal for both the distance and angle from my seat.
