Few comedians blend sharp social commentary with deadpan delivery quite like Petrina Solange. At the second iteration of the comedy event Bubbel & Babbel in May 2025, she returned to the Gothenburg stage with a set that proved why she remains one of the most fearless and thought-provoking voices in Swedish stand-up.

Petrina Solange is one of Sweden’s most distinctive voices in stand-up, known for her dry delivery, fearless topics, and razor-sharp observational humour. A seasoned performer with accolades including “Best Female Comedian” at the Swedish Standup Awards, she’s become a staple on the national comedy circuit thanks to her unapologetic style and intelligent material. Whether tackling politics, tech, or cultural contradictions, Solange delivers with a coolness that commands the room without ever raising her voice.

From TikTok kids and VR Porn, to War and Västlänken

At the 2025 Bubbel & Babbel event in Gothenburg, Solange returned to the Liseberg stage following her praised appearance at Humor i hamnen 2023—and proved once again that she’s in full control of both her material and her audience.

Solange focused a lot on modern technology this time, including a hilarious bit about receiving VR goggles from her parents, which she promptly used to watch porn—only to find herself awkwardly “interrupting” digital characters mid-act, causing her to back out apologetically like a polite guest at the wrong party.

Staying on the topic of technology, Solange then took aim at the baffling logic of the TikTok generation. Recounting how a child once jabbed her side to ask for her TikTok handle—so he could prove her identity to a friend—she highlighted the absurdity of today’s tech habits: “It’s the same TikTok on every phone!” she deadpanned.

As a satirical twist, she joked about walking up to women and asking to browse their OnlyFans accounts, mimicking the casual entitlement of online culture. Delivered with perfect timing, the punchlines landed hard—biting yet hilarious reflections on digital life and sex norms.

She didn’t shy away from politics either. From mocking token representation in space exploration to poking fun at the never-ending roadworks in Gothenburg (“What even is Västlänken? No one knows—it’s just something we say”), Solange displayed her knack for cutting through social nonsense with understated precision.

The set closed with her now-classic bit about the threat of war in Sweden. When asked how they’d react to an invasion, most audience members admitted they had no idea. Solange offered her solution with deadpan clarity: “I’ll join the Sweden Democrats and deport myself.”

In all, Petrina Solange’s performance was a masterclass in minimalist delivery and maximum impact. Without theatrics or volume, she remains one of the most intelligent, daring, and relevant comedians on the Swedish scene today.
